How to earn a Christian counseling degree online from home.  There are many accredited colleges that offer online degrees.  This allows employed individuals to work on their degrees from home at their convenience.  Some research is required to be assured that the college is accredited and the counseling degree will be widely accepted.

Offering Christian Premarital Counseling

Counseling degrees can be quite specific. One degree can be for counseling Christian couples wanting to get married. Christian pre marriage counseling is one of the most important and rewarding aspects of this specialized counseling. To see a couple through this process and witness the results of this counseling in a strong and solid marriage is quite exciting. Couples learn through Christian premarital counseling how important it is to keep God as the center in their marriage.

Our Troubled Society

There are many things to lure individuals into dangerous situations in today’s world that lead to depression, addictions and financial woes.  There are more Christians today seeking Christian counseling than ever before and for so many different areas of life. Couples, singles, young adults, teens and even young children are suffering from anxiety and drug addictions.

Offering Biblical Advice

In the Bible there are many examples of men, women, sons, daughters, kings, princes, and even the disciples falling into times of great trouble. There is the story of King Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel chapter four verses 31 & 33 describe his fall into mental duress due to the guilt of not walking according to God’s commands. He had become self absorbed and egotistical.   4:31 “While the word was still in the king’s mouth, a voice fell from heaven: ‘King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: the kingdom has departed from you!  4:33 That very hour the word was fulfilled concerning Nebuchadnezzar; he was driven from men and ate grass like oxen; his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers and his nails like birds claws.” He lived like this until he was directed back to the Lord.

It would be awful to wander through the desert as Nebuchadnezzer did in the book of Daniel.  How much better it is to receive correction and accept the punishment and move on.  Guilt can cause so much pain.  When visiting with a Christian counselor you are not the first or the last that has a story to tell.  Nothing is new to them.

Seek biblical counsel early, receive it, and apply it to the situation you are currently in. You may discover that when the another difficulty arises you are more able to handle it because you have received the tools with which to deal with it.

4:34 “And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever:”

It is the job of a qualified Christian counselor with the proper training to redirect a person’s focus off of themselves and back onto the Lord and what the Lord requires of them. As it says in verse 34 “his understanding returned to him.” When a person is in deep depression or trapped in an addiction their “understanding” has left them. Even a son or daughter walking down the wrong path needs their “understanding” returned to them through Christian counseling.

It is important to be well equipped with the right tools to help those who are “wandering in the wilderness.”  Having a solid biblical education and degree in Christian counseling provides you with some of the tools necessary, but the most important tool is receiving the call from God.

I think Christian, Bible-based counselors will find The Missing Link a very useful tool.It helps people (readers) understand the mysteries God’s creation of the humane race and how this plan works. It can help in developing and maintaining relationships, particularly with God. Through it, people can help realize why they are the way they are, and why OTHERS are they way THEY are, and that rather than change the other people, embrace who God wants you to be. You will be happier and more fulfilled, and closer to the Lord. It’s very powerful.
