Christianity uses Sunday School to introduce the children to the Christian way of living from a very early age.

It has always been the endeavor of Christianity to take religion beyond the limitations of the Holy World. This has led to the blossoming of a number of youth congregations as well as Sunday Schools. Parents have loved the moral lessons that are imparted in the schools. The practice of Sunday school dates back to years ago. The requirement for an upliftment in ethics was responsible for the practice of Sunday schools.

The practice of Sunday school is in accordance with the sacrament of Holy Communion. After a child is recognized as a “Christian” all efforts are made to make sure that he/she is brought up to be able to lead a proper life. Sunday schools help the children in this.

At first, similar to the other major world religions, Christianity too depended on Bible reading and talks on parables. The earliest Sunday school classes were held by the missionaries. After a period of time the congregation was allowed to volunteer and individuals could share lessons learnt from experience. These days the Church allots place to hold the classes after the Sunday Mass at the church.

Sunday school for the kids involve Bible reading, story telling and coloring competitions, understanding the codes in The Bible, refresher courses and a plethora of both indoor as well as outdoor activities that help to enrich the spirit of togetherness. Each lesson in the class revolves around a particular theme. The activities, crafts, object talks, games are designed specifically to be in tune with the theme in the class.

Hundreds of graduates adorned in their royal blue regalia streamed across the auditorium to receive their certificates in Christian Theology. Founders, Drs. Christian and Robin Harfouche exhorted these world-changers to preach the Gospel with signs and wonders accompanying.

Due to the increased demand and hunger for Bible training, the International Miracle Institute is pleased to announce the addition of a special cap and gown ceremony and impartation service during the Gathering of Champions conference. All students who have not had an opportunity to physically experience this at the Florida campus are encouraged to be a part.

Gathering of Champions is an annual appointment for God’s people. For the past 15 years, God’s champions have gathered together at the World Center to receive training in the Word of God, spiritual impartation, and supernatural ministry. This year with Drs. Christian and Robin Harfouche, 5 of God’s mightiest generals (Dr. Morris Cerullo, Dr. R.W. Schambach, Dr. John Avanzini, Dr. Norvel Hayes, and Dr. Michael Chitwood) will come together under one roof for the most powerful time of equipping to date. Together with these and other special ministry guests, we will honor Dr. Christian Harfouche for 30 years of powerful ministry. Be a part of this historic gathering of generals and champions!

The World Center is the headquarters of Christian Harfouche Ministries, Miracle Faith Center Global Church, the International Christian Karate Association and the International Miracle Institute. The ministry is currently reaching 190 nations, with 100,000 students worldwide. Wherever Drs. Christian and Robin Harfouche minister, notable miracles and dynamic demonstrations accompany the Word of God. Dr. Harfouche has said, “Through God’s grace, we have seen blind eyes opened, deaf ears unstopped, and thousands delivered from every disease imaginable.”

Hinduism is vaguely termed as the oldest living religion in the world. Holding a unique distension of being the third most followed religion after Christianity and Islam, this religion has close to a billion followers worldwide. Predominantly, this religion is followed in the Indian subcontinent and parts of south-east Asia. Nepal is the only country in the world, which has declared Hinduism as the official religion of the country. The followers of Hinduism are called Hindu. Hindi language is derived from this term only, and the name Hindustan (India) is the logical fallout of Hinduism.

A religious, but non-Christian, person sacrifices the virtues in their life and lives a life full of commandments without governing themselves by moral values, without practical expressions of solidarity or mercy. A true Christian, on the other hand, knows that the commandments lead to an expression of these virtues in daily life, knows that by studying biblical stories and drawing out the lesson, we start to reproduce the values which God tries to promote and emphasize by means of these stories. When someone demonstrates a religious and fanatical life without understanding true Christianity, finally this fanatacism and religiosity results in fatigue, scepticism and this scepticism produces indifference and boredom, which at the same time leads to cynicism and apostasy. Sadly, this is the state that many people are in.

Each one of us is free to make our own decisions, as for myself, I make the following:

- I choose to be a man of integrity and decide to conduct myself with honesty in absolutely everything I do.
– I choose to believe God that I am loved, forgiven and protected by Him.
– I choose to try to build a family which always acts in accordiing to moral values.
– I choose to live a life full of social sensitivity, dedicating the majority of my efforts to help and produce well being for those who suffer, for the needy, for the poor, for the minorities
– I choose to always speak the truth, even though this has meant and continues to mean, that people who decide to love me may turn into enemies.
– I also choose to forgive those who offend me and continue living for Christ and for others.
– I choose to be bold and not to waste time complaining and thinking about what could have been that didn’t happen.
– I also choose to bless and respect everyone who thinks and acts in different ways to how I act.
– I choose and decide to defend my convictions with absolute solidarity and in a gentle manner.
– I choose to be responsible and in my position as pastor of this ministry, to defend Centro de Vida Cristiana against whatever attitude or person which could stop us from continuing to be a ministry built on virtues and social sensitivity.
– I choose to offer an attitude of loyalty, sincere care and support to my friends and to all of those who surround me.
– I choose not to ask those around me to do things or partake in activities that I would never want to be asked to do or that would make them feel bad or miserable.
– I also choose to try with all of my strength to be a good son, a good husband, a good father, a good Christian and a good citizen.
– I choose to be a person who realises their faults, inabilities and mistakes, and to correct myself, change direction and ask for forgiveness when I understand that there is a need to do so.

Dear friend: The heart of God is a heart full of love for you personally, for me personally, for all of those who suffer. His love is so great, even to such an extent that he gave his only Son, so that all who believe in him shall not perish, but have eternal life, because God didn’t send His Son to condemn the world but he sent him so that the world could be saved through Him. In his salvation, in his love, he has decided to offer an even higher virtue and this virtue is freedom. We have complete liberty whether we choose God or not. We have complete freedom whether we choose to opt for his reign or not.

Every person has freedom to choose and therefore has the responsibility for their own lives. It is not possible to put the blame on no-one at all because we are given a choice and are therefore responsible for our decision whether or not to follow God. We should choose because the reign of God over your life manifests itself in an expression of virtues and sensitivity to the needs of society from the point on decision onwards.

Through my years in CVC, I have seen many marvels, many blessings, many miracles, many families restored; tens of thousands of people helped in different ways, poor people fed, people giving up drugs and alcoholism; people who lived for themselves and to accumulate, compete or try to excel who now live helping others by means of their profession and resources; people bound by pornography and lust, attitudes which damage and insult people, who are now free. In times when, according to the statistics, in North America and Europe, only half of marriages last and of those only half live in such a way which actually conforms with the promises made at the start, couples and families which were at breaking point have learnt, in our counselling sessions, to forgive each other, to carry out fundamental changes, they have been restored in an integral manner. Mature or young women who sought to have abortions have been informed and helped in such a way that we have saved the lives of hundreds of children who were not killed by their own mothers. We have also touched the lives of thousands of young people, encouraging them not to abandon their education, warning them about the danger of drugs, helping them to reach their goals in life, to achieve the greatest level of education possible. We have served hundreds of abandoned or semi-abandoned children, giving them food, love, accommodation, medical attention, toys, clothes, education, etc., etc., etc.

Because of all of this and much more, our ministry of promotion of values and social sensitivity, is without a doubt a real alternative of benefit to society and its needs. This is a ministry which promotes values and sensitivity in the individual, within families, within societies, in pubic, in businesses, etc., These are the needs of a world which is constantly fighting and in a state of war, due to a lack of these fundamental values in their personal objectives and dreams, creating and promoting more and more competence.

The scriptures of Hinduism are vastly distributed among its followers, and have a very strict relevance to the daily activities. The two most common forms of scriptures are Sruti (the revealed) and Smriti (the remembered) texts. The basic fundamentals of these scriptures are Sociology, Mythology, Philosophy and Theology. All these scriptures are in fact a guide to the attainment of the Dharma or the rightful living. The Vedas and the Upanishads are the most important of scriptures of Hinduism.

Young families want to know that their children are well taken care of and that their kids are being taught in a fun and educational manner. If parents are worried about their children, they will not enjoy the services or get plugged into classes of their own. Is that to say that the children’s area has to be a dream palace or a miniature theme park? No of course not, but the kids area of the church is very important, maybe more important than the adult sections of the church. Parents may overlook imperfections in their own facilities but the standard is definitely raised when it comes to the areas in which their children will be taught.

Considerable thought should be given to the design and upkeep of the children’s facilities. The children’s areas of the church should be clean and inviting. The walls should be painted in child friendly colors and decorated with murals, banners, posters and other assorted artwork. The artwork should grab the children’s attention and draw them into the wonderful world of Sunday school.

The dictionary defines the word value in the following way: the quality of objects and things which give objects worth. To reach the importance or significance of something. Qualities of the soul of a man. Habits and dispositions of the soul of a person whose actions conform to a superior law.

I finish with a question. Dear friend: how much are you and your life worth?

Prophetic Word given at the recent Pensacola Revival…

Yes! Yes! The Lord is going to stretch His hand and in a short span, even this year, He’s gonna put his hand in the middle of this nation. And He’s going to put His hand in several locations in the world. He’s going to bring confusion to the camp of the enemy. He’s going to put His hand of blessing on Israel. He’s going to put his hand of revival on the church. Your property value is going to go up. Your contracts are going to multiply. Your, your money is going to increase. Your fire is going to burn brighter than ever before. My God I feel the power of the Holy Ghost in this place!! Glory!

DO NOT FORSAKE YOUR SEAT OF AUTHORITY

And the Lord told me to tell you that the majority of you here tonight are experiencing in an area of your life a dissatisfaction and a discontentment with the time frame of your manifestation. Some of the things you have been told by God, that you have believed God for and in. You are being distracted from. God told me to tell you: Do not forsake your seat of authority. Plant your feet in the field of your promise and declare that there is no weapon that is formed against what you know God has said that is capable of distracting you. There is no greener grass. Oh yes, yes you can multitask but don’t vacate a place that you’ve already erected a victory in. Somebody knows what I’m talking about tonight. Glory to God! Don’t give up on a seed that you’ve sown. Don’t forget about a promise that was made. Don’t overlook something that God has declared because He has encapsulated the manifestation, He’s encapsulated the results in a sphere of time called today. While it is called today. That’s why you are here today. That’s why you’ve been here this week. That’s why He’s prophesying to you. Glory be to God! You will never be the same again.

REVIVAL IN AMERICA

And the Lord says, don’t be afraid to open your mouth and say the very things that my word says, when you don’t “feel” like they are real. Because when you open your mouth and say what I promised when you don’t feel like it you won’t be able to say it too long before the feeling overtakes you and the manifestation of My Hand comes on you cause I have two treasures. I have a heavenly treasure of ability and you are my workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works. Bless the Lord. Bless the Lord. There will be a revival in America. There will be a revival in the world. The likes of which no generation has ever seen. Your pretentious adversary will be revealed for the defeated foe that he is in the communist nations as well as in the free world, because God has raised up giant killers. I feel the power of God in this place!

THE GOD RUSH

When they strike oil somewhere, people that hear about it they’ll move from all kinds of locations to go where they struck oil. Where they discover diamond mines, people from all over the world and the region go. Sometimes to prosper then other times they are used you know by the oppressors to work as cheap labor. But the prophetic point is this once you make a discovery of something valuable there is a rush. And I’m prophesying a God rush. I have to tell you the truth. They’re going to rush to the houses of God. They’re going to rush to where there’s a believing house. They’re going rush to find you. They’re tug on your coat. They’re going to say, “What do you know?” They’re going to say, “What have you learned?” Hallelujah! It’s a God rush. It’s a God rush.

WARNING

God will bless those that bless you and curse those that curse you. And woe be to those that will try to silence the mouth of the Body of Christ. And that will try to stifle and stop the blessing of the kingdom of God. Because they won’t only not have a career but they might not even have a breath. Woe to those that will try to stop what prophets have predicted what the Word has declared. I don’t care whether they live in a Red country, or whether they live in a Red, White and Blue country. I don’t know if anybody knows what I’m talking about. I don’t care if they are on the East coast, West Coast, North coast, South coast. I don’t care where they are, but woe be to those that get around to litigate and instigate. Those who get around to lobby to rob the believer from the ability and the church has from it’s legal right and it’s divine commission to declare the holiness of the Word of God. Their time and their days are numbered.

A GLOBAL HOUSE

God is building a global house. A global house, it’s a global house and we are the house of God and His house will be filled with the anointing and the ability and the favor and the power and the gifts and the endowments and the fruit that He desires. Hallelujah! And the Bible says that it is the Lord that builds the house and unless the Lord builds the house they labor in vain that build it. Jesus said upon this Rock, I will build My church. He didn’t say, I’m going to try. He didn’t say I’m going to lay the first century foundation. He didn’t say I’m going to build until the last apostle dies. He didn’t say I’m going to build until dark ages come. He didn’t say I’m going to build until someday I have to come back to put the roof on. He said upon THIS rock I WILL build My church. And if Jesus is building, ain’t no devil, ain’t no man, ain’t no ambition, ain’t no demon, no principality and no power that can stop Jesus from building the super natural, victorious, triumphant House of God.

PRAYER

“Father, we’ve expanded, we’ve enlarged your people. They’ve been faithful. They’ve been obedient. I thank you for our friends, our ministry partners. I thank you for our team, our workers, our laborers that have toiled and worked. I thank you for our people across the world that have participated. I thank you for those that are already planning to be part of the Gathering of Champions. I thank you for the truth you’ve already revealed tonight. I ask you to energize and rejuvenate physically, mentally, emotionally, soulishly, financially and in every area of their life and when you pour out your anointing tonight we’re capable of containing and receiving. Praise be to God. The touch of God. Let people go off into the realm of the Holy Ghost. Open the realm of visions and dreams. Expand the horizons of their abilities, let them see and let them know and understand, let them comprehend and let them perceive. Glory be to God forever!

[The Scribes and Pharisees] said to [Jesus], “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act”…[Jesus] raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first”…Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one…When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” - John 8:4,7,9-11

This timeless passage has proven, through the centuries, to be a treasure trove of personal and philosophical inspiration. These words expertly exemplify the Lord’s expectation in our treatment of fellow sinners, while simultaneously displaying for us a touching example of the Messiah’s insurmountable love of fallen man. In all of Scripture, few examples can be found which surpass this recounted tale in the sheer level of hope to be gleaned by the lost and searching believer. This hope, however, is not wholly without price or responsibility; rather, it is a hope born of sacrifice and sustained by the righteous conviction of those who would claim it. Just as our one and only Savior bore a cross of shame and painful death, so to must we bear the cross of our salvation1; a cross humbly defined when the very Author of human redemption says, “Go and sin no more.”

Unfortunately, this seemingly simple message has been complicated by a plethora of contradictory voices within the community of believers; voices that incomprehensibly replace the demand of a disciplined and servile faith as found throughout the Word of God for a feel-good message of salvation free from personal accountability.2 These voices have since united to become tragically mainstream. For when the Lord says, “Go and sin no more,” the modern church says, “Go and behave in whatever way pleases you.” In regard to the Book of Law and Right Conduct, Christ Jesus Himself stated plainly and unequivocally, “Do not think that I cam to destroy to Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.”3 The modern church, however, would describe the very Old Testament that our Lord here defends and upholds as a book of merely Jewish laws and Jewish customs. The rapid moral breakdown of western society itself is a solemn rebuke to such arrogant contradiction. The Holy Word offers further rebuke to such folly of Convenience:

He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. - 1 John 2:4

The inexcusable foolishness of hiding behind the veil of a Gentile birth whilst placing the full burden of God’s righteous commands upon the backs of our Hebrew brethren cannot be overstated. The Holy Bible cannot be arbitrarily regarded as a book of the Jew as opposed to a book of the believer, in whole or in part, when its words become troublesome or inconvenient. The believer’s obligatory war against sin as presented throughout Scripture cannot be so lightly regarded, nor so easily discarded, lest we stumble and fall in the great race for everlasting life.4 Just as the dreaded Day of Atonement5 was defined by repentant self-denial and solemnity of spirit rather than by celebratory feasting and reverie, so to must our struggle with sin be marked; not by joyful ecstacy and haughtiness of spirit, but by solemn determination and righteous vigor.6 It is only by working out our salvation with fear and trembling7 in such a way that we may follow our great Redeemer into eternity; the selfsame Redeemer whose simple request is that we go and sin no more.

1 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” - Matthew 16:24

“And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.” - Luke 14:27

2 “But in one thing, I would go beyond strict orthodoxy – I am a convinced universalist. I believe that in the end all men will be gathered into the love of God.” (William Barclay: A Spiritual Autobiography. William B. Eerdmans Publishing Co. Copyright 1975. Page 65)

“…When asked whether he believes heaven will be closed to good Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus or secular people, though, Graham says: ‘Those are decisions only the Lord will make. I believe the love of God is absolute. He said he gave his son for the whole world, and I think he loves everybody regardless of what label they have.’” (Meacham, Jon. Newsweek Magazine. 14 August 2006. Excerpt from interview with Billy Graham.)

3 Matthew 5:17

4 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: Not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. - 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

5 The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) is regarded as the holiest of the Biblical holy days. It is a solemn day of introspection and repentance from sin and is listed among such holy days as Passover and the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah):

“Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. And you shall do no work on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the Lord your God.” - Leviticus 23:27,28

6 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offerred Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect…For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. - James 2:20-22,26

7 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do His good pleasure. - Philippians 2:12

It is imperative that kids are introduced to the valuable lessons of the Holy Book from a young age. This will help them to have a solid grounding of the basic principles of Christianity and also give them a good base for their future life. The lessons that kids learn in their formative years make a lasting impression in their minds and stay with them throughout their lives. It is therefore required that kids be taught these important lessons when they are still young.

Children ministry focuses on gathering a group of children and imparting Bible lessons to them. Through the ministry the children will learn to relate to the Holy Book and this will feed their interest in knowing more about Jesus and Christianity. Many directors and pastors are on the lookout for innovative methods to get the message of the Lord to the kids.

Children’s ministry resources are useful to entice the kids into learning the Bible. Most kids find reading The Bible tough and uninteresting. However it is very important that they be initiated into the Christian way of living from an early age. There is therefore the need of fun and exciting ways to get the message of the Lord across to the children and in a way that they can easily understand. Christian ministry makes available a plethora of ways to make the kids know about the religion and the valuable lessons of the book.

There is always a great demand for interactive methods to impart religious education to children. Some of the interesting and fun ways to teach the Bible while engaging the interest of the children are:

Puppet ministry: Puppets are always in fashion and something that the kids have always loved. A puppet ministry can either be elaborate or simple, as you wish. These are a great way to engage the attention of kids. The skits need to be chosen carefully and the children will always want to see more. A puppet show based on Biblical principles is a fun way to teach the kids about the Holy Book.

Illusions: Illusions are able to hold the attention of the children like nothing else. Through this Bible lessons can be taught to the children easily and the kids are sure to love it!

Balloon twisting: This is another very popular method with the kids. One can learn balloon twisting from the many DVDs that are available. These teach how to create balloons that carry Biblical messages.

In the Children’s ministry ask the children what they would love to see. You can use their suggestions to reach out to them. They would have a range of ideas that would not only be fun to implement but would also help them know about the message of the Lord in a much better manner and help them integrate the religion in their daily life.

It’s not something that everyone give much thought to, the innocence in God’s nature. But according to at least one author T. Russell Benedict, it’s imperative to understand for anyone wanting to delve into the very character of God. But what does it mean, really?

Among other things, innocence includes being free from guilt, free from negative intentions, and in some ways, even freedom from even the knowledge of evil. Do these definitions apply to God? They certainly do!

To get a deeper grip on the very nature of innocence, the author then takes us into the innocence of the children, and how they react to things around them. And by drawing parallels between them, he reveals for some us intriguing new ideas concerning the nature of God as well, and why He sometimes does the things He does that don’t make sense at first glance.

So given that God has this innocence embedded in his nature, how does it affect how He deals with Man in general? Can understanding this innocence help us comprehend His character on a deeper level? Can we gain a new understanding of, and appreciation for, His holiness, His mercy, and His love? Will it help us reach a better understanding of His deeply rooted senses of Justice, Fairness, and even Jealousy? The undeniable answer is Yes!

Can understanding His innocence help answer why He created us, why He created Satan, why He created Hell, and even why He chose to allow His son to die a cruel death on Earth? The answer is YES, here as well.

But then the author takes us to the nuts of bolts of his discussion. How should we respond to this innocence in the character of God? What response should come from us? If God is actually innocent by nature as suggested, does He really deserve to receive all the anger, hate, and disrespect that people dish out on Him every day? Would we do the same to a child?

This book, available at http://www.TheInnocenceOfGod.com in both ebook and paperback forms, challenges us to consider God in a new light. You can’t read this discussion without having some new insights of your own. It’s the kind of book that leaves you thinking about its message, long after you put it down. It belongs on the shelf of every person wanting to understand God and their own place in this universe better.

Bible education is an important aspect of every kid’s education. No learning is complete without knowledge of the valuable lessons imparted by The Holy Book. Every kid must be aware of the message of the Lord and lead a life based on the principles outlined in The Bible. For this it is necessary that the children are made aware of the teachings of The Bible. While reading the book might not be very interesting for the children, there are now available a host of methods to make it easier for the children to understand the book and assimilate it in their daily lives.

With the advent of technology the kids now have a great opportunity to learn The Bible in a way that is fun and educative. With technology The Bible is within the reach of the kids and they can watch it, listen to it and learn from it for a healthy and happy life.

There are many families today who are practicing religious teachings at home apart from the education that is given at the congregation. In this age of high tech gadgets it is difficult to get your kids interested in reading the Bible, they seem to be more tuned into video games. There is a positive side to it. With the advancement in technology, God’s word can now be heard through these high-tech mediums. Parents are finding it much easier to make their children learn about religion through the animated DVD collections that tell the same stories that we grew up reading in print.

The DVDs catch the attention of the children through a medium that they love and impart the knowledge that you want them to be acquainted with. There are DVDs for children of every age to enable them to learn The Bible at different stages of their growing up. For small kids there are cartoons and songs and dances to initiate them into The Holy Book. For older children there are DVDs that teach them the meaning of the stories in the Book. Also, watching DVDs is much easier for the children than reading the book as it creates a lasting impression on them.

There is also a lot of Bible software that is available online. These are interactive and enable the kids to learn easily and actively. There are Bible video games that encourage the children to solve Biblical riddles. The kids meet Biblical characters in the games. These videos are entertaining and the kids learn about the Bible while having fun playing the games. There are also Bible pod casts that can be downloaded to an iPod. The children will thus be able to have their favorite Biblical stories together with their favorite music.

With so many different ways to reach the children it is no longer difficult to acquaint them with The Bible. Technology has indeed brought many options to the fore and is extremely useful in helping the kids develop sound values and principles at a very early stage.

There are some obscure pieces of Mother Teresa trivia which may not be known to most of the population, such as what her real name was (it was Agnese Gonxhe Bojaxhlu), but there are many things known about this famous nun to the population at large. The fact that she was a major humanitarian, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, and an inspiration to millions worldwide is common knowledge, but there are many more obscure facts about this Albanian nun that might arise in the course of a Mother Teresa Quiz.

For example, did you know why Mother Teresa chose the name, Teresa? Many Roman Catholic nuns forswear their birth names to take names with religious meanings after they complete their novitiate and swear vows as a nun. It was an interest in the work of the missionaries in stories she heard in her early years that first led her to the service of God, and so she took the name Teresa after Therese de Lisieux: Patron Saint of Missionaries. This is an interesting Mother Teresa quiz point that many may not know.

It was in Calcutta that Mother Teresa found her calling, founding her Missionaries of Charity which was aimed at caring for those in need. Mother Teresa Trivia often concerns this organization because it represents a large portion of her legacy. It has grown from 13 members to a worldwide organization that has more than 4000 nuns working in its various incarnations around the globe.

To gain a better understanding of the scope of her missions around the globe, you need to realize that what began in the fifties as a single mission in Calcutta had grown by the nineteen nineties to an organization that included 517 missions in over 100 countries. Mother Teresa herself was active in many of them, as well as traveling the world to aid where she could when there were victims from major disasters or war. This included her aid of victims of Chernobyl and her involvement in the Siege of Beirut in 1982, which included her help in negotiating a stop to the violence that was long enough for her people to rescue 37 children from a hospital.

The list of awards and accolades bestowed upon this humble nun is large, and includes many of the most important awards possible to receive in India, including the Padma Shri, the Jawaharlal Nehru, and the Bharat Ratna, the most prestigious award that a civilian can receive in that country.
