Say, for the sake of argument, a being appeared before you.  And this being told you, “It is within my power to make you supreme ruler over the entire world for 100 years.  You’ll be whatever age you want, never getting any older, and have a perfect body.  Anything and everything you want is yours for the asking.  The only thing I require of you, is that once the 100 years is done, you give me your soul to suffer in hell for all eternity.” 

Would you do it?  Would you consent to be supreme ruler over the entire world for 100 years in exchange for your immortal soul?  A rational person would say, “Absolutely not!It’s a stupid deal.  Short term fun for long term misery.  And, yet, every day in this culture of death, the majority of people sell their souls for so much less!  A lie, adultery, anger, lust, greed, avarice, sloth, etc., you name it.  Why?  Because we’re short sighted.  We are all afflicted with the effects of original sin, namely, darkness of intellect and weakness of will. 

That raises the question, “Then why aren’t 100% of the people doing these bad things and selling their souls for next to nothing?”  That’s an easy question to answer.  Because of God’s grace and our use of the will to cooperate with His grace!  Through God’s grace, we have, at some time, come to know Jesus Christ.  We have come to love Jesus Christ.  And, through our actions, we have come to serve Jesus Christ in this life so that we can be happy with Him in the next!

Okay, so if you’re one of the folks who have sold out, until now?  What can you do?  Is all lost?  Are you headed for the lake of fire with no hope?  No!  If you’re reading this, you’re alive!  If you’re alive, there’s always hope!You can get right with God and establish a relationship with Jesus Christ. 

What if you don’t know Jesus Christ?  What if you have no idea what He expects of you?  Then you have to educate yourself.  That’s the first step.  With His grace and your cooperation, you can learn.  And in this modern age of the Internet, you can learn much easier than ever before!  There are many good, reliable websites that offer orthodox (means “right teaching”) information of the truths of Jesus Christ and now to live them.  One such site is Alabama Catholic Resources.This site has hundreds of good, orthodox, Catholic .MP3 files that you can download for FREEand play on your PC, MP3 player, iPod, etc.You can even play them in your car if you burn them onto a CD.

So, get up off your you-know-what and get started…now?  Even if you think you know the Catholic faith, there is so much to learn that you can study all your life and never know it all.  Even the Pope has his own theologian on staff to help him with matters of the faith.  Since the twelfth century, the Pope’s personal theologian has always been a Dominican priest.They’re the most effective.
