The Aglow International, Community Lighthouse meeting for Thursday, Jan. 5 has been cancelled. The next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 2.

Belmore Baptist Church, 1214 South Bell St., will have worship services at 10:50 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

The church office will be closed Monday, Jan. 2. Belmore’s regular Wednesday evening activities will resume at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4. Activities are planned for each age group in the family, and the nursery will be open.

First Baptist Church, 37 E. Harris Ave. will have a performance from Monte Maxwell at 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1 in the church sanctuary. Maxwell serves as director of chapel music at the United States Naval Academy, director of the Midshipmen Symphony Orchestra and senior chapel organist.


First Presbyterian Church, 32 N. Irving St., will hold one combined service at 11 a.m. Sunday. There will be no Sunday school.

The “Best Day of the Week Agape Feast Free Lunch” for area high school students will resume at 12:37 p.m. Jan. 11 in the Youth Center. Lunch is free and open to all high school students. Donors are needed for salad, French bread and desserts.
