Roundtable Discussion Group: Meets every Sunday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the library of the Unitarian Church, 2000 S. Solano Drive. Temple BethEl: Singer-performer Robyn Helzner presents “Kreplach and Dim Sum – Yes, There are Jews in China!” at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, at Temple Beth-El, 3980 Sonoma Spring Ave. Helzner shares stories, photos, video, and music to explore the extraordinary history of the Jewish communities in Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Kaifeng, and traces their emergence as the fastest growing Jewish region in the world. The Gathering for Generous Justice: Three-day conference from Jan. 26-28 in Las Cruces. From 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, worship and plenary with the Rev. Randy Nabors at Mesilla Park Community Church, 1040 El Paseo Road.; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 27 and 8 to 11 a.m. Jan. 28 at University Presbyterian Church, 2010 Wisconsin Ave. The conference is sponsored by Crosstown and the City Churches. Confirmation at Holy Family: In June, Bishop George Lucey will be visiting Holy Family American National Catholic Church, 702 Parker Road, to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation. If you are interested in receiving this sacrament and will be over the age of 13 in June, please contact the parish as the classes have started and will soon close to new participants. St. Genevieve’s Prayer Group: A faith based Catholic community meets from 7 to 8 p.m. on Mondays in the conference room, St. Genevieve’s Church, 100 S. Espina St. Meeting will be in English. Info: 575-524-0728.

Kadampa Buddhist: Meditation for healing mind and body meets from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. the first and third Saturday at 2000 S. Solano Drive. Info: 575-496-4271

SundayBible School: The New Agape Christian Church in partnership with the Dream Center, 1400 Sixth St., offers Sunday Bible School for all ages at 4:30 p.m. for those who work Sunday morning, or those that like to sleep late on Sunday and for folks whose church no longer offers Bible School. This quarter they are studying prominent people in the New Testament, next quarter, prominent people in the Old Testament; free resource booklet for each student. Bible School is followed at 5:45 p.m. with Secret Church and Children’s Church. The adult study is a biblical, historical, scientific and theological study through the prophets. NAME marriage counseling: Las Cruces First Assembly of God has partnered with National Association of Marriage Enhancement to open a free marriage counseling center at 5605 Bataan Memorial West. Over the past 19 years, more than one quarter of a million marriages have been strengthened and saved through NAME, which offers free couple-to-couple counseling. Through NAME, homes are reunited, marriages are restored, and children are spared the ravages of divorce. NAME Centers train couples to mentor other couples in need. People from all walks of life are welcome. St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store: The store, 580 S. Valley Drive, is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. The store has very low prices on clothing and household goods, and with these funds the group gives financial assistance to the poor and needy. They also have party dresses and interesting items. By donating items to the thrift store and shopping with them, you are helping the poor in Las Cruces, and by recycling you are helping save our planet.

Cross of Christ Lutheran Church: Do you feel like you are in a rut and want something different for 2017? Please join them as they begin the new year by exploring the life of humble service and peace that Jesus, the ultimate “Difference Maker,” has in mind for each one of you. The worship services are at 1 0 a.m. every Sunday at 2540 El Paseo Road. Regular Sunday Worship with Holy Communion: 9 a.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2900 Elks Drive. Children and families are encouraged and welcome. Cowboys for Christ: Meets at 7:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month. Cowboys for Christ is a non-denominational outreach organization primarily seeking to witness to and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to cowboys, cowgirls, and those involved in livestock and agriculture. Cowboys for Christ is not a substitute for the local church or assembly, nor is it in competition with any denominational group. It seeks, rather, through God’s enabling grace, to be a helper to all local churches, denominations and groups to the extent that they are in harmony with the will of the Almighty God. Being a cowboy is not a requirement for your participation. Anyone with a desire to win souls for the Kingdom of God is welcome to join them in their mission to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Mission Lutheran Church and School: Join them at 9 a.m. Sundays at at 2752 Roadrunner Pkwy. for fellowship, followed by Sunday school for adults and children at 9:15 a.m. Worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. Mission Lutheran has an accredited day school for preschool through fifth grade, where the children receive a solid Christian education in a loving, supportive environment. Mountain ViewBaptist Church: Sunday Bible study at 10 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m. at 705 N. Main St., across from City Hall. There are Bible study classes for all age groups and nursery is provided for each service. If you do not already have a church home, they invite you to visit and get acquainted with them. Daily Mass and Liturgy of the Hours: Holy Family American National Catholic Church, 702 Parker Road, will be praying the Liturgy of the Hours-Morning Prayer at 6 p.m. Fridays in the Saint Francis Chapel. Prayer groups: Peace Lutheran Church, 1701 E. Missouri Ave., offers two weekly prayer groups. Centering Prayer meets at 9 a.m. Saturdays, for a 20 to 30-minute period. Centering Prayer offers a chance for silent prayer and personal reflection with God. Women Gather for Prayer meets Monday afternoons from 4 to 5 p.m. Please call the church office for the location. Legal help for immigrants offered: The Legal Services Program of Catholic Charities provides professional immigration legal services to moderate and low-income residents of the 10 southern counties of New Mexico.
